Wednesday 1st November – Windsurf *** River Orwell at Levington Marina – cloudy with ome rain.

Foil – 20.10 knot max, 18.64 knot ave, 10.57 knot hour, 15.01 knot mile, 30.76 km., 16.00 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Naish Nalu 4.7.

After a couple of poor sessions I was keen to get out today before the full force of Storm Ciaran arrives but there looked abit of rain in the forcast. Someone was coming at ten to try on a wetsuit I am selling so got up early to do my exercises while Mag walked around to an old friend those moble phone was playing up! Wetsuit sold and with Robert on his way to Levington I hitched the trailer and set off around 11 in only light rain! Loads of water on the Orwell so we quickly set up our foil boards and with the SW wind gusting well over 20 knots I rigged 4.7 while Robert went for 4m! I was first out and it looked like I had rigged way too small and I tacked into the middle of the river but then found some wind on the corner where I stayed for most of the near two hour session. I was tempted to come in and rig bigger but the small sail was great when the wind was up and it is so easy to gybe and did around 50 today not going in once:) with my top ten alphas all over 15 kinots! The water was nice and smooth too and we only got a little light rain, with the runs stort and the wind gusty it was tiring so it was time to call it a day, good descision too as the rain arrived while were pcking up, shower and head for home. Mag had to buy our friend a new mobile phone so it was good she was sorted! Tomorrow is looking wild but hope to get out again on Friday!
